Melanie Fosson was a college athlete when she first discovered she had high cholesterol. Knowing she was young, fit and active, she didn’t think too much about it until she was in her 30s and her doctor was strongly recommending she go on statins. That direction didn’t sit well with her, she began researching other options and I’m guessing you have a good idea where this story is going . . . Melanie is a member of my very own community and I am so grateful to have connected with her and that she was willing to come and share her story.

Melanie Fosson was a college athlete when she first discovered she had high cholesterol. Knowing she was young, fit and active, she didn’t think too much about it until she was in her 30s and her doctor was strongly recommending she go on statins.
One of the things that I love most is Melanie’s gradual journey to health and all that it teaches us. I think we can learn a lot both from the people who make a dramatic change very quickly as well as the ones who make incremental improvements over time.
She began to see improvements as she improved her diet, not needing fertility medication after the first couple babies and in other areas. But it was just six weeks of whole food plant based eating that finally made a dramatic change in her cholesterol.
I know I wish I had learned a lot sooner just how powerful plant based nutrition is for our health and I appreciate your help getting the word out!
