Notes:
5 tips for helping your kids adjust to new foods:
- Do some journaling and find out what thoughts might be stopping you. Consider ways you can shift the “I can’t!”s into “I can!”s
- Find ways to align better with the division of responsibility
- Parents – what, when, where
- Children – how much and whether
- Redefine how you look at failure. A meal that does not go down as everyone’s favorite can still be an opportunity to teach children how to respond politely when they don’t like a food as well as adjust their taste buds. You are teaching, you are setting example. It’s okay if they don’t like it. This is the fastest way to progress.
- Take opportunities to teach your children about the science and power that lies in nutrient dense foods, especially about how it can improve their day-to-day performance.
- Make it fun and low-stress!
